Ganglia Ventures is the investment & philanthropic office created by the Gaglani Family, whose mission is to empower fellow individuals and organizations who are contributing to the wellbeing of society, animals, and nature.Within three generations the Gaglanis progressed from refugees fleeing the 1947 Indian partition to immigrants providing healthcare in Africa to successful entrepreneurs in the United States who have founded several companies (including Osmosis.org, Vanitas Rehab, and Areo Dental Group) that have collectively created hundreds of jobs and helped millions of people. Given the role that deep connections, healthcare, education, and positive psychology played in the family journey, Ganglia Ventures is focused on investing, advising, and consulting for organizations and individuals who are committed to self-awareness, self-improvement, and positively impacting those around them.An anagram of the surname “Gaglani,” “Ganglia” are nervous system structures where neurons connect with each other and create emergent properties, leading to the whole being greater than the sum of the parts (i.e. 1 + 1 > 2). For example, the connected structures of the “basal ganglia” are primarily responsible for movement, emotion, and cognition in each of us. Similarly, when the right individuals and ideas are connected the results can be incredible. We are reminded of the famous quote from the cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”Ganglia Ventures creates value for organizations and their leaders by forging strong connections between relevant people, organizations, and ideas as well as through capital, advice, and mentorship. These connections, or synapses, may be to a variety of people around the world, from teammates to customers to investors to back-office advisors (e.g. law, finance, human resources), and draw upon the Ganglia network to groups including the Entrepreneurs Organization and Harvard Business School.
